Pahad ma Bali Pratha : Poem against sacrificing animals in Religious Rituals
Animal sacrifice for religious purpose or getting benefits from uncertainty was common in Vedic period. Shakt Sects brought speed in the sacrificing animals in rituals in India. Today, no Hindu community is untouched from this cruel way of offering animals to deities that they get benefits against uncertain bad luck. Even Television news channels showed Indian cricket Mahendra Singh Dhoni killing a goat kid after Indian team winning T20 cricket world cup. There was discussion in media when the last Nepal king sacrificing a male goat in Kali temple Kolkata in his India visits.
The Young Garhwali Poet Vijay Gaur has written about sacrifices of animals customs in Hills of Uttarakhand.
The poem does not deal only to sacrificing animals to deities but states that killing unborn girl child in the uterus is sinful as sacrificing animals to deities for the gain.
The sensitive poet raises many questions of morality, social responsibilities and above all the human’s responsibility for the living organisms.
The poem is simple poem with lot of questions. The poet did not use unnecessary metaphors to make the poem ornamentally beautiful. However the verse construction creates automatically such figurative poetry lines as
एक पैदा हूण से पैल मार दिए जान्द,
और दुसरू थैं खिलै-पिल्लै की चट कैर दिए जान्द.
Vijay Gaur wants that even children of all age also understand the value of lives of all living organism is equal.
Vijay Gaur lives in scientific era and approves the scientific researches as essential parts for human development . However he cautions the society that create electricity from nuclear energy and not nuclear bomb (though sarcastically gaur says ki Ultra sound aaj bi bhindi paisa ma aand ).

की अल्ट्रा साउंड आज भी भिंडी पैसों मा ह्वान्द,
निथर बखरी कु और ब्वारी कु अल्ट्रा साउंड दगडी करये जान्द,
और ब्वारी कु कोख मा नाती पता चलन पर,
बखरी कु कोख कु नौनु देवी मा चढ़ये जान्द.
क्या आस्था का नाम पर यु कत्लेआम ठीक मन्यु चाँद?
Definitely the poet should be congratulated for combining two inhuman behaviors of the society. The poem is definitely a marvelous pieces for social awareness.
